Position Purpose:
The MD Level II is a competent design engineer, able to take key involvement in design phases of projects. They may assume responsibility for small projects and/or elements with supervision and will be aware of progress and liaise with the senior engineer regards technical, schedule and budgetary constraints. The MD Level II must maintain knowledge of the cutting edge of technology in relevant subject areas.
Whilst the role does not involve any direct line management, there will be duties in delegation of work, planning, supporting and mentoring staff as required. An effective MD Level II will work on developing their leadership skills and maintain a positive approach to all challenges.
Responsibilities:

Support development of new techniques, processes, documentation, or products; maintain familiarity with company solutions.

Take ownership of project elements or small projects under supervision.

Contribute to resolving technical issues using applied expertise.

Support bids through client requirements analysis, risk assessments, concept development, costing, and schedule creation; may include site visits and client interactions.

Contribute to the full design lifecycle from concept to detailed design, reviews, and release of drawings and BOMs, including review of others’ work.

Produce CGI for client approval and internal communication.

Support project execution with client coordination, site surveys, technical/commercial queries, and design updates; consider installation and shipping strategies; assist with testing and documentation (e.g., compliance, O&M).

Support production through design handovers, queries, inspections, and factory acceptance testing.

Provide support for legacy equipment as needed.
Position Requirements:

Possesses oral and written communication skills, able and competent across the range of platforms used in TAIT (Outlook, Slack & Zoom).

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (typically Mechanical), or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficient at 3D CAD.

Committed to Continuous Professional Development and engaged in Industry seminars, trade shows and activities of relevant professional bodies.
