Optical Assistant - Brooks and Wardman Opticians
Nottingham, NG1 5DW
Salary up to £26,748.80 per annum which increases to £27,684.80 FTE per annum after our CEA course

Bayfields Opticians & Audiologists have now rebranded our Optical Assistant job titles so you will be joining our fabulous team as a Client Experience Advisor based in our Nottingham practice (NG1 5DW - trading as Brooks and Wardman)

Due to the nature of this role, we are looking for an experienced Client Experience Advisor for 5 days / 40 hours per week (Monday to Saturday with a day off during the week; 9am - 5:30pm).

When you join Bayfields Opticians and Audiologists as our Client Experience Advisor, you are joining an independent business. Although we are national, we are not a huge chain which means we understand the importance of local relationships and the power of choice. We aim to deliver obsessively great service to each and every one of our clients via our Welcome, Discover, Delight client journey which is at the core of what we do. We have the latest diagnostic equipment, the latest technological advances in contact lenses, spectacle lenses and frames, and the latest fashions.

At Bayfields, we are passionate about the services we provide our clients so as our experienced Client Experience Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for anyone visiting or contacting your practice. We want you to greet our clients in person as they arrive, or over the phone with a smile to make them feel valued and you will listen and understand their needs before taking ownership of their query. You will work closely with your Practice Manager, Optometrists, Audiologists, Dispensing Opticians and team members to determine the best solutions for our clients and focus on our Welcome, Discover, Delight Bayfields client journey. We need an experienced Client Experience Advisor with experience of dispensing single focus lenses, multi-focal lenses and contact lenses. We would like somebody with strong IT skills and excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to build strong relationships with your team members, peers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service.
Assist customers in selecting suitable frames, lenses, and other optical products.
Experience of dispensing single focus lenses, multi-focal lenses and contact lenses.
Schedule appointments and manage bookings.
Maintain product displays and ensure the store is tidy and presentable.
Handle administrative tasks, including processing payments and orders.

A keen interest in eye care and eyewear.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
The ability to work well in a team and independently.
Previous experience in optical retail.

This Bayfields Opticians & Audiologists course will take you through our client journey, an introduction to Contact Lenses, an introduction to the Eye and its Anatomy to understanding spectacle frames and lenses but most importantly giving you the opportunity to network and learn with your colleagues from other practices. You will participate in workshops that demonstrate the various types of optical screening equipment in practice and how to carry out basic repairs and adjustments. It will give you the opportunity to learn in a hands-on environment under the guidance of our experienced managers. Additionally, you will explore the Audiology journey to understand the impact of hearing loss for our clients and the solutions we can offer.
