Full job description

Climax is one of the leading creative lights of independent games development with an outstanding line of top published titles. It truly is an exciting and inspiring place to work and you'll be based out of our Edinburgh studio based in the heart of the city overlooking the historic castle.

We are looking for an experienced and multi-talented fully onsite Senior Environment Artist with the ability to conceive, create and be a key part of the team in creating innovative experiences via artistic visuals for AAA titles. Proven experience in generating a diverse range of styles, technical expertise with current gen’ technology and / or illustration skills are certainly of benefit.

Requirements

At least 4+ years of experience in console development with at least 2 shipped titles.
Effective visual and verbal communication skills when directing internal or external teams or individuals.
Excellent resource management and judgement.
Comfortable liaising with and presenting to clients in an authoritative and professional manner.
Someone who is self-motivated, friendly, gregarious with attention to detail and a passion for delivering the best possible game experience.
Excellent at managing deadlines & budgets, with excellent time management skills.
Experience developing and implementing solid art production pathways.
The ability to find creative solutions when troubleshooting and assessing risks.
A good understanding of cutting-edge artistic techniques and tools and the ability to implement them into current practical practices.

Skills

Creative and self-motivated
Strong and versatile modelling skills
Experience using Maya
Experience using Unreal
Experience using Substance
Experience using ZBrush Extremely quality oriented
Some experience setting up LOD's
Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills
Experience of mentoring junior team members.
Experience of dealing with art outsourcing.
An artistic education to at least graduate level
Strong folio including examples of realistic modelling and environment

A keen eye for scene composition
Experience on mobile projects is also of interest
Successfully worked with iterative development and rapid game play prototyping
