Web developer responsibilities include building our website & Client Websites from concept all the way to completion from the bottom up, fashioning everything from the home page to site layout and function.
Responsibilities
Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices
Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
Create and maintain software documentation
Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities

Ability to commute/relocate:
Leeds: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
HTML5, CSS, Javascript: 2 - 3 years (required)
web design or development: 2-3 years (preferred)
Adobe Creative Suite including illustrator and photoshop: 2- 3 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
UK Degree-Web Design, Comp. science or related graphics (required)

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Web Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications and websites. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across a variety of projects, utilising the latest technologies to deliver seamless user experiences. The ideal applicant will have a strong foundation in both front-end and back-end development, with experience in modern frameworks and tools to support scalable and efficient web solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy responsive websites and web applications using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, and Vue.js.
- Design intuitive user interfaces (UI) and enhance user experience (UX) through wireframing and prototyping.
- Build robust back-end systems employing frameworks such as Django, Spring Framework, ASP.NET, Ruby on Rails, or Node.js.
- Manage databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, and SQLite; optimise queries for performance.
- Integrate third-party APIs and develop RESTful or GraphQL web services to facilitate data exchange.
- Utilise version control systems like Git or SVN; collaborate via platforms such as GitHub or Bitbucket.
- Implement continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps tools like Ansible.
- Ensure website responsiveness across devices using Bootstrap, SCSS, and responsive web design principles.
- Conduct unit testing and debugging to ensure code quality; utilise tools like Visual Studio or WebStorm for development.
- Optimise websites for SEO; improve page load speeds and overall performance.
- Participate in system architecture planning; contribute to SDLC processes ensuring best practices are followed.
- Maintain documentation of codebases and project workflows; utilise Trello or Jira for task management.
- Stay updated with emerging trends in web development; recommend innovative solutions to improve existing systems.
Experience
- Proven experience in full-stack web development with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (TypeScript), AJAX, jQuery, Bootstrap, React Native (nice-to-have), and responsive design techniques.
- Solid understanding of back-end frameworks such as Django (Python), Spring Framework (Java), ASP.NET (.NET), Ruby on Rails (Ruby), or Express.js (Node.js).
- Extensive experience working with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server; familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB is advantageous.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is desirable.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices including containerisation with Docker; automation tools like Ansible are advantageous.
- Familiarity with web services protocols including RESTful APIs and SOAP; understanding of GraphQL is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to write clean, efficient code adhering to best practices in software development lifecycle (SDLC).
