Part Time Optical Assistant / Receptionist required for an independent practice based in Bradford.
Duties to include greeting patients, answering phones, handling and responding to correspondence, maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, frame styling, dispensing spectacles, filing and general administration, pre screening. Ideal candidate should possess excellent customer service skill and be able to cope working in a busy environment. Previous experience in a opticians is a MUST.
Ideal candidate must be able to speak either English/Urdu/Hindi/ Puniabi.

Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients as they arrive at the practice, providing exceptional customer service.
- Help patients select appropriate eyewear and explain lens options and features.
- Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity checks and assist with patient history documentation.
- Maintain an organised and clean laboratory environment, ensuring all equipment is properly calibrated and functioning.
- Assist optometrists during examinations by preparing necessary tools and materials.
- Process orders for eyewear and contact lenses, ensuring accuracy in prescriptions.
- Manage inventory levels of optical supplies and assist with restocking as needed.
- Stay updated on the latest optical products and services to provide informed recommendations to patients.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an optical or healthcare setting is preferred but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy related to the eye is advantageous.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
