Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist Manager specialising as an Independent Prescriber to join our healthcare team in Aberlour. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead pharmacy operations, provide expert patient care, and ensure the safe and effective use of medications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical knowledge, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services within a dynamic environment. As a Pharmacist Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing pharmacy staff, overseeing medication management protocols, and supporting patient health outcomes.
Duties
- Lead and supervise pharmacy staff to ensure high standards of patient care and medication safety.
- Prescribe medications independently within the scope of practice, adhering to legal and professional guidelines.
- Provide expert advice on medication administration, potential interactions, and patient-specific considerations.
- Oversee medication dispensing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop personalised treatment plans for patients.
- Maintain detailed records of prescriptions issued and monitor patient progress.
- Ensure the pharmacy complies with all relevant legislation, policies, and quality standards.
- Deliver patient care through consultations, medication reviews, and health education initiatives.
- Stay abreast of developments in pharmacology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical best practices to continually enhance service quality.
Experience
- Proven experience working in an ICU setting or similar high-acuity environment is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in patient care with a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology.
- Extensive knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety procedures.
- Previous experience as a pharmacist with independent prescribing authority is essential.
- Leadership experience managing a team within a healthcare or pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

What We’re Looking For
- GPhC-registered pharmacist with Independent Prescriber qualification
- Strong clinical knowledge and confidence in patient-facing consultations

Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience delivering Pharmacy First or similar services
- Background in private service delivery (travel, dermatology, weight loss, etc.)
