Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting our accounting functions.

Working out of our offices in Huntly we work closely with owner-managed businesses, limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.

As our bookkeeper, you will support us by helping to maintain accurate financial records and ensure day to day bookkeeping tasks are completed efficiently and on time.

For the right person, this role offers the chance to grow professionally, take on greater responsibility and help shape the future of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a range of clients using computer software such as Quickbooks, Xero and Sage. Also a number of clients that use spreadsheets.
Process sales and purchase invoices- knowledge of dext would be good but not essential
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is correctly entered and up-to-date
Ensuring deadlines are met
Handling payroll processing where required
Liasing with clients to request records and resolve queries
Assisting accountants with year end preparation, vat returns and management reports.

About you

Experience in bookkeeping, ideally within an accountancy practice
Familiar with UK bookkeeping and VAT processes
Confident using Quickbooks, Xero (preferred but training can be provided)
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
If you have a recognised book keeping qualification, if you have the experience but no qualification that is just as good
