Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee and optimise our warehouse functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring efficient logistics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of supply chain management, warehouse systems, and transportation processes. The Warehouse Operations Manager will play a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction within our organisation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise warehouse teams to ensure smooth daily operations, including shipping & receiving, inventory management, and order fulfilment.
- Oversee utilisation of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and AS400 platforms to optimise workflow and data accuracy.
- Manage transportation logistics through Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL).
- Monitor and control profit & loss (P&L) statements related to warehouse activities, identifying areas for cost reduction and process optimisation.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality standards across all warehouse functions.
- Supervise the use of equipment such as forklifts, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational protocols.
- Coordinate shipping & receiving schedules, optimise stock levels, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations while fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Analyse logistics data to identify trends and develop strategies for supply chain optimisation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance overall warehouse performance and customer service levels.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms, AS400, and process improvement methodologies.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, transportation management systems (TMS), shipping & receiving procedures, and 3PL operations.
- Hands-on experience with forklift operation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with logistics optimisation techniques and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to manage profit & loss accounts effectively.
- Experience working within a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency is essential.
