Assistant Legal Cashier
We require an assistant Legal Cashier to join our accounts team in Canterbury. This is a full time, weekday role from 08.30 – 17.00 and is inclusive of a one-hour lunch break.
Key Duties of the Role:
· Processing of payments via online banking platforms;
· Processing client to office transfers for payment of bills;
· Reviewing bills and completion statements;
· Posting of invoices;
· Preparing cheques for signature;
· Allocating and posting credit payments;
· Dealing with queries from fee earners and support staff via email and telephone;
· Ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules, Anti-Money Laundering Regulations and VAT requirements, as part of daily duties;
· To undertake additional tasks as deemed reasonable to meet the needs of the team in the delivery of excellent client service.
Requirements for the Role:
· Have experience of working within a similar role.
· Be able to demonstrate experience in bank payments, receipts and reconciliations.
· Have an understanding of purchase ledger and nominal ledger and have an understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and have the necessary enthusiasm and drive and interest to work within the legal sector.
· Have strong customer service skills and able to work to deadlines.
· Demonstrate excellent all-round communication skills;
· Have good IT general skills, in particular Microsoft Office programs.
· Have some experience using accounting/case management software for legal practices.
· Minimum of 5 GCSEs A – C/9-4 or equivalent, It is essential that you have a B or above in GCSE mathematics or equivalent.

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000
