Full job description

Are you meticulously organised with a keen eye for detail?

We are seeking a dedicated Publishing Administrator to join Identity Music and play a vital role in ensuring our composers' works are properly registered and protected globally.

In this position, you'll be the linchpin in managing the administrative lifecycle of musical compositions, directly impacting how our talented composers are credited and compensated for their creative endeavours.

What You'll Do
As a Publishing Administrator, your core responsibilities will include:

Work Registration:

Meticulously registering musical works (compositions) with relevant Performing Rights Organisations (PROs) such as PRS for Music (UK), ASCAP/BMI (US), and other collection societies worldwide.
Ensuring accurate and timely submission of all necessary metadata, including song titles, composers, lyricists, IPI/CAE numbers, song splits, and alternative titles.
Managing and updating a comprehensive database of all registered works.

Data Management & Integrity:

Maintaining precise and up-to-date records of all musical works, associated rights, and agreements.
Auditing existing data for accuracy and resolving any discrepancies or missing information.
Liaising with composers to gather essential information for new registrations and updates.

Communication & Liaison:

Serving as a primary point of contact for composers regarding their publishing registrations.
Communicating effectively with PROs and other collection societies to ensure smooth registration processes and resolve any queries.

Copyright Administration Support:

Assisting in the protection of musical copyrights by ensuring correct and complete registrations.
Monitoring and tracking registration statuses and responding to any inquiries or issues.

What We're Looking For (Required Skills)

We're looking for an individual who possesses:

Exceptional Organisational Skills: You thrive on precision and have a proven ability to manage complex data sets and multiple priorities with meticulous attention to detail.
Strong Administrative Skills: Experience in an administrative role, ideally within a fast-paced environment, demonstrating your ability to handle tasks efficiently and accurately.
Detail-Oriented Approach: You notice the small things that others might miss, ensuring every piece of information is correct and accounted for.
Analytical Thinking: The ability to logically approach problems and resolve issues related to data and registrations.
Excellent Communication Skills: Clear and professional verbal and written communication is essential for liaising with composers and external organisations.
Computer Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and/or Google Suite (Sheets) is crucial for data management.
Self-Starter Mentality: You are proactive, take initiative, and can work independently to meet deadlines.
Passion for Music: A genuine interest in the music industry.

Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves)

Familiarity with music publishing terminology like ISWC codes, publisher shares, and sub-publishing agreements.
Previous experience working directly with composers or other creative professionals.
