About Us
AM Surveying & Block Management provides Block Management and Building Surveying consultancy services across London and the South East. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Service Charge Accounts Assistant to join our friendly and professional team. This role offers excellent exposure to the Block Management industry, working alongside in-house teams, property owners, accountants, solicitors, and service providers. We are looking for a motivated individual who can add value to our team and develop professionally within the business.
The Role
As Service Charge Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include:·
- Managing service charge accounts and block budgets
- Liaising with external accountants to support year-end accounts
- Overseeing the onboarding of new properties and developments
- Raising service charge and ground rent demands
- Assisting with credit control and collection of funds
- Completing bank reconciliations and liaising with banks
- Producing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Processing payroll for site staff
- Assisting with audit requests and legal matters
- Liaising with solicitors and other stakeholders as required
Requirements
Your responsibilities will include:
- Experience within the Property Management industry is preferred
- Understanding of service charges is essential; at least 1-year experience preferred
- Experience within Block Management or Surveying is advantageous
- Previous experience within a professional services environment
- Experience using accounting software is essential
- Experience using Xero is beneficial
- Property management software experience is desirable
- AAT qualification (or similar) is desirable but not essential
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and a strong team player
