Job Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team to drive our 12 tonne curtain sided vehicle. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of goods, ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently and professionally.
This role consists of around 2-4 drop offs per day, depending on volume and business needs, and 45-60 hours per week.
There is a rota in place for occasional weekend work, which increases during peak months (summer and winter) to match the requirements of our customers.
Responsibilities
- Driving 12 tonne curtain sided vehicles.
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport goods and materials.
- This is a physically demanding role, loading and unloading cargo using pump trucks and hand balling method where required.
- Plan routes and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
- Perform routine maintenance on the truck and report any mechanical issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups.
Essential experience, skills & qualifications:
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
- Driver CPC Qualification & Digital Tachograph Card
- A minimum of 1 year experience in commercial HGV driving
- Good knowledge of UK road networks and transport regulations
- Strong time management and communication skills
- A professional and customer-focused attitude
