An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic small animal Vet to come join our team at Eastwood Vets for Pets!

We are currently looking for a fifth Vet to help us at our busy small animal practice, with an ever-expanding caseload. So, if you are looking for a role with a varied case load, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Eastwood is a small town located just twenty minutes between Nottingham and Derby and close to East Midlands Airport. The practice is minutes away from busy Giltbrook retail park and a large IKEA, and we are situated close to both junctions 26 and 27 of the M1 motorway. There are regular bus routes to nearby towns and cities, and the new Ilkeston train station is just ten minutes away.

About us

You will be working alongside Jon, our very experienced Practice Owner who is a certificate holder in small animal surgery, exotic animal practice and he is also an advanced practitioner in small animal surgery and zoological medicine. Jon also has a further qualification in endoscopy and endosurgery. With all of Jon’s experience he will be able to support you to really achieve your veterinary career goals no matter what they look like. As well as Jon you will be working alongside 3 other Vets and will be supported by a fantastic, experienced Nursing team consisting of a Head Nurse, 7 Nurses, 1 Student Nurse (due to qualify), Veterinary Care Assistant alongside a Practice Manager and 3 Client Care Advisors. We are a friendly close-knit team who often will go for walks in the peak district and out for meals together.

We have a keen focus on skill advancement in our practice, with a generous CPD package offered. This is demonstrated with current staff members undertaking a master’s degree which is supported by the practice. You’ll be working in a practice with great facilities and advanced diagnostic equipment, including an endoscope.

We are a clinical associate with Nottingham Vet School assisting the students in their exotic rotations. So, this will also offer you the opportunity to help the next generation of Vets!

About you

Our practice team is committed to providing a gold standard and client care, constantly going above and beyond. The ideal candidate will be looking to work in a patient focused practice, so excellent communication skills and dedication to your work are a must.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years’ experience in small animal and be confident in all aspects of routine surgery and consults.

What we can offer you

Competitive Salary - £45,000 - £60,000 (dependent on level of experience)
Full time role – 40 hours per week
No out of hours
1 in 4 Saturdays on rota basis (hours 9am – 4pm) and time off in lieu
