Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in masonry and bricklaying, demonstrating proficiency in the use of hand tools and power tools. This role involves constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, stone, or concrete, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.

Duties

Lay bricks, blocks, and stones to construct walls, arches, and other structures.
Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications and layout.
Mix mortar and other materials according to specified ratios.
Ensure the alignment and level of bricks using appropriate tools.
Perform repairs on existing masonry structures as needed.
Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople on construction projects.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.
Operate various hand tools and power tools effectively, including welders when necessary.

Experience

Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry is essential.
Familiarity with the use of hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and levels.
Experience with power tools relevant to masonry work is advantageous.
Previous experience working alongside carpenters or in roofing projects will be beneficial.
A strong understanding of construction methods and materials is required.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team is crucial for success in this role.
