We are looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Warehouse Operations Manager to lead our warehouse operation and play a key role in shaping the future of Logistics at Hereford Contract Canning.
Reporting to the Head of Logistics, you will take ownership of the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring the safe, efficient and accurate storage and movement of stock. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will develop team capability, drive continuous improvement and help deliver the Company's vision, values and customer commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring products are stored, handled and dispatched safely and efficiently.
- Develop, coach and support the Logistics team to build capability and a high-performing culture.
- Plan resources, workloads and priorities to meet operational and customer service requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency, accuracy and safety.
- Maintain effective warehouse procedures, governance and compliance with Company standards.
- Optimise warehouse space, stock control and inventory accuracy.
- Monitor departmental performance, waste and operating costs to support business objectives.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the business and with external partners.
Skills, Experience & Attributes
- Proven experience leading warehouse or distribution operations, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong people leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- A recognised leadership qualification (e.g. ILM Level 4, CMI or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards one.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A continuous improvement mindset with experience identifying and implementing operational improvements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of warehouse management, inventory control and wider supply chain processes.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience of Business Central (BC) would be advantageous.
