Procurement & Product Manager
This is a newly created role at an exciting stage of our growth — a real opportunity to shape something from the ground up and make a visible impact.
As Procurement & Product Manager at Norfolk Natural Living, you'll lead our end-to-end procurement function while playing a central role in bringing new products to life. Working closely with the Creative Director and Head of Production & Logistics, you'll translate creative concepts into production-ready products, drive sourcing strategy, manage supplier relationships and optimise cost — all without compromising on quality or brand integrity.
You'll also line manage and develop our Procurement Specialist, helping to build a best-in-class function as the business scales.
What you'll be doing
Procurement & Supply Chain
- Lead procurement strategy for raw materials, packaging, specialist ingredients and critical inputs, delegating day-to-day purchasing while retaining oversight of strategic sourcing and high-risk materials
- Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to balance quality, compliance, sustainability and commercial value
- De-risk supply through primary and secondary sourcing, and proactively manage material changes and their downstream impact
Product Development
- Partner with the Creative Director to turn product ideas into commercially viable formulas, specifications and production methods
- Coordinate formulation, testing, trials and technical reviews to support launch decisions
- Maintain clear documentation formulas, specs, bills of materials and manage smooth transitions into production
Regulatory & Safety
- Secure certifications and regulatory approvals for new products (UK and international)
- Ensure formulations meet relevant safety standards (UK/EU cosmetics, REACH, CLP, detergent regulations)
- Oversee PIFs, SDS, IFRA documentation and safety assessments, and keep existing products compliant as regulations evolve
- Lead investigations into product complaints or quality issues, maintaining accurate records and driving corrective actions
Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain internal processes for procurement governance, supplier approval and product development
- Monitor regulatory developments, ingredient trends and market best practice
- Support sustainability initiatives across ingredient sourcing and packaging
What we're looking for
You'll bring proven procurement experience ideally in a product-led environment such as beauty, home fragrance, wellness, manufacturing or consumer goods with a strong grasp of supplier management, cost negotiation and supply chain risk. You're equally comfortable working with product specs, ingredients, compliance requirements and bills of materials as you are building supplier relationships and driving commercial outcomes.
Experience in product development or new product launches is a bonus, but what matters most is your ability to connect creative ideas with practical, compliant, cost-effective production realities.
You'll thrive here if you're organised, commercially minded and solutions-focused, with the confidence to challenge processes, manage competing priorities and develop people.
Skills & Tools
Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace and Slack; comfortable with procurement systems, MRP, spreadsheets and cost tracking tools.
Line management, or team development experience would be advantageous, particularly where it has involve supporting a developing function.
