Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and organised Design Engineering Administrator to join our engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop a career within engineering and design administration. The successful candidate will provide administrative and technical support to the Design Engineer and wider engineering team, helping to ensure the efficient management of engineering documentation, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and project information throughout the design and manufacturing process.
The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments. The Design Engineering Administrator will play a key role in supporting the smooth progression of customer projects from initial design through to production.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Design Engineer and Engineering Manager.
- Create, update, organise, and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and project records.
- Assist with the preparation and management of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Support the engineering team in processing customer specifications and design information.
- Maintain accurate engineering databases, document control systems, and filing structures.
- Liaise with Sales, Purchasing, Production, and other departments to ensure project information is up to date and accessible.
- Assist in tracking design revisions and ensuring the latest versions of drawings and documents are available.
- Support the preparation of manufacturing packs and production documentation.
- Monitor project progress and assist in coordinating engineering activities to meet deadlines.
- Help ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and document control requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department.
- Maintain awareness of company products, manufacturing processes, and engineering procedures.
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and general administrative tasks as required.
- Work as part of the wider team, supporting colleagues and undertaking additional duties when required.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety requirements.

- Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Engineering Manager.

- Familiarity with engineering drawings, BOMs, or document control processes.
- Experience using CAD software or engineering management systems.
- Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
