The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Contracts Manager to lead and develop project teams within our established business unit in Hamilton. This is a key leadership role with full responsibility for operational performance, financial delivery, customer satisfaction, and employee development.
You will play a critical role in ensuring a strong and continuous pipeline of work by building relationships with new and existing clients, while driving performance across our High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) project profit centres.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of the management team to deliver overall business and profit centre objectives
- Drive high standards of health & safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Take commercial responsibility for HV and LV project profit centres, including: P&L performance and Budget management and forecasting
- Cash flow and order ownership
- Support the Operations Manager in producing financial reports and budgets
- Proactively manage costs to improve efficiency and profitability
- Define project scope, objectives, and resource requirements, ensuring technical feasibility
- Ensure “right first time” project delivery and high customer satisfaction
- Interpret and manage contracts effectively, implementing appropriate controls
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, produce quotations, and support tenders
- Set clear, measurable objectives aligned with business strategy to drive performance
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, particularly HV/LV Safety Rules
Your skills and experiences:
- Proven experience in managing and developing teams within an engineering environment
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing P&L and budgets
- A solid track record in business development and increasing profitability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing workforce
- Extensive knowledge of the HV/LV electrical engineering services industry
- Higher qualification in Electrical Engineering (desirable)
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a management role within an engineering business
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or Health & Safety for Managers qualification
