Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors is pleased to offer an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveying
Degree Apprentice to join our established practice and enter directly into Year 3 / Level 5 of the BSc
(Hons) Building Surveying Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Salford.
This role is ideal for applicants who have already completed relevant higher-level study in the built
environment and are now looking to progress towards becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS).
THE OPPORTUNITY
You will join our experienced Building Surveying
team within a well-established, independent
consultancy, working alongside Chartered
Surveyors on a wide range of projects across the
public and private sectors.
This is a fully funded Degree Apprenticeship.
Apprenticeship costs are covered by us, you will
earn a salary while studying, and you will gain
structured professional experience from day one.
We have a strong track record of successfully
supporting apprentices through degree study and
on to professional qualification.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS – ACADEMIC
Applicants must have completed (or be
completing) ONE of the following construction-
related qualifications:
- HND (Level 5) in Building Surveying, Construction
and the Built Environment, Construction
Management or a closely related discipline
OR
- HNC (Level 4) in Construction, Building Surveying
or a closely related discipline
OR
- Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) in
Construction or a related built-environment
subject (Building Surveying preferred)
OR
- Completion of Year 1 / Level 4 of the
traditional full-time Building Surveying
programme at university
RELEVANT SUBJECTS STUDIED
Applicants should have covered some or most of
the following subject areas within their qualification:
- Construction technology and methods
- Building construction and materials
- Building pathology / defects
- Building regulations and statutory control
- Health, safety and CDM regulations
- Measured surveys and inspection techniques
- Construction law or property law
(introductory level)
- Sustainability, environmental science or
building services
- Basic contract administration or
professional practice
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS – PERSONAL
- A genuine interest in buildings, property and
the built environment
- Strong communication skills and good
written English
- A desire to progress to degree-level study
and professional qualification
- Eligibility to work in the UK
