The role:
As a Production Planner at Kendal Nutricare, you will play a key role in ensuring production operations run efficiently and according to plan. You will be responsible for developing and issuing accurate production schedules, coordinating material availability, and ensuring all materials released to production are QA-approved and within shelf-life requirements.
You will manage stock rotation, monitor incoming deliveries, and work closely with suppliers and internal departments to maintain continuity of supply and production efficiency. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Working closely with production, procurement, QA, and supply chain teams, you will support the achievement of operational targets while maintaining high standards across the site.
This is a full-time position based at our headquarters in Kendal, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.
What you’ll be doing;
- Create, maintain, and issue accurate production schedules in line with manufacturing and packing plans
- Ensure all materials released to production are QA-approved and compliant with shelf-life requirements
- Monitor stock rotation and minimise material write-offs through effective expiry-date management
- Track incoming deliveries and liaise with suppliers regarding delivery updates, delays, and schedule changes
- Produce accurate material forecasts to support production requirements and supplier planning
- Coordinate delivery schedules and manage the return of non-conforming or substandard materials
- Maintain accurate documentation and control systems within the department
- Work closely with production teams to ensure stock accuracy and material availability
- Raise and manage purchase orders in line with operational requirements
- Support continuous improvement of planning and scheduling processes
What you’ll need:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Good numerical ability, with GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Calm and professional approach under pressure
- Previous experience in production planning or manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of CSB systems would be advantageous, although full training will be provided
