Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Maker/Joiner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting, assembling, and installing high-quality cabinetry and joinery products. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for carpentry and bespoke furniture making to develop their skills within a professional environment. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of fabrication, assembly, and the use of various hand and power tools. Experience in construction-related trades such as roofing, plumbing, masonry, or electrical work is advantageous but not essential. The position involves working on diverse projects requiring precision, craftsmanship, and adherence to safety standards.
Duties
- Fabricate custom cabinetry and joinery components according to detailed specifications and technical drawings
- Assemble furniture and fixtures using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
- Measure, cut, shape, and finish wood and other materials with accuracy and attention to detail
- Install completed cabinetry on-site, ensuring proper fitting and alignment
- Operate a variety of tools including saws, drills, sanders, and joinery machines
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure project specifications are met
- Assist with site preparation tasks such as roofing or construction painting when required
- Heavy lifting of materials and finished products to facilitate installation or transportation
Requirements
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry, or joinery roles
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools such as chisels, saws, hammers, screwdrivers; as well as power tools including drills and saws
- Strong knowledge of joinery techniques and construction practices
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Experience in roofing, plumbing, masonry or electrical work is desirable but not mandatory
- Excellent organisational skills with an eye for detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant qualifications or apprenticeships in carpentry or joinery are advantageous but not essential
