HR Projects Manager
Sizewell C’s business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. Overall, whilst the Company is in the construction phase, the Boards’ principal focus is on the development and construction of Sizewell C on time, on budget and to the highest quality and safety standards. The Company is maturing to meet all these requirements.
Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the RAB model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway.
Sizewell C construction strategy is to replicate the design of Hinkley Point C, using the majority of the same supply chain, but innovating in the way it is delivered to achieve savings in time and cost of around 20%. The CCO will need to be guided by and incorporate lessons learned from the Hinkley Point C commercial delivery to achieve Sizewell C’s ambition.
Following Financial Completion and Revenue Commencement, Sizewell C is fully funded and is owned by; The Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero representing HM Government, La Caisse, Centrica, EDF and Amber Infrastructure.

Why join Sizewell C?
This is a unique opportunity to join a project of national importance during a period of rapid growth.
You will be working in a complex, regulated environment where governance is being shaped for the future and genuinely matters, and where your work will have direct visibility at senior and board level.
If you enjoy working with complexity, partnering with senior stakeholders and building structured, high quality governance from the ground up, this role offers real impact and stretch.
Why join as an HR Governance Project Manager?
This is a rare opportunity to step into a role where governance is still being developed, not just maintained.
You will have the chance to shape how the People function operates at a strategic level, influencing how decisions are made, how information flows to the Executive and Board, and how HR supports a complex, regulated organisation.
You will work closely with senior leaders, gaining exposure to board level activity and high profile governance outputs. If you enjoy building frameworks, bringing structure to complexity and having real influence in a growing organisation, this role offers genuine impact.
The opportunity…
At Sizewell C, we are building one of the UK’s most significant clean energy projects, and with that comes the need for strong, consistent governance across the organisation.
As we continue to scale, our People function is evolving quickly. We are looking for an HR Governance Project Manager to help shape and embed how governance works across HR, supporting executive and board level activity and ensuring information is structured, consistent and evidence based.
This is a highly visible role where you will work closely with stakeholders across the people function, supporting upskilling, awareness and acting in a specialist advisory capacity.
What you’ll be doing…
This is not a pure coordination role. You will be expected to get stuck into the detail, interpret complex information and produce high quality outputs that support senior decision making.
You will
Own and manage forward planning across governance, compliance, risk, audit and assurance
Ensure activity across the People function aligns with Executive, Committee and Board reporting cycles
Track senior leadership decisions and maintain clear governance across HR
Produce board and committee papers, presentations and reporting materials
Lead major governance deliverables including support to Annual Report and Accounts activity
Coordinate audit activity, lender reviews and business continuity planning
Maintain and develop the People risk register and governance frameworks
Work closely with HRBPs and senior stakeholders to build solutions and remove blockers
Help embed a new governance framework across a growing organisation
What we’re looking for…
This role needs someone who can operate in a complex, highly dynamic environment and feels comfortable influencing a variety of stakeholders at senior level.
You will bring
Strong experience in HR governance, project or programme roles
A corporate background with exposure to board level governance and ideally company secretariat interaction
Experience producing board and committee papers and supporting executive reporting
Experience leading major governance outputs such as annual reports or similar
The ability to analyse, interpret and build clear outputs/material from complex information
Confidence to build something new, influence stakeholders and work across teams
Experience in supporting the preparation of high-quality Board and committee papers and presentation materials
Experience in managing a forward plan spanning across governance, compliance, risk, audit and assurance activities which provides the Senior Leadership Team with the confidence that activity is aligned with Executive, Committee and Board level reporting requirements
Experience in IR35 or broader compliance is helpful but not essential.
You will also have
A degree in HR, Business or a related field
Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence at senior level
Advanced PowerPoint and strong Microsoft Office capability
Ready to make your mark?
If you are looking for a role where you can genuinely shape how governance works in a growing organisation, this is your moment.
Bring your curiosity, your attention to detail and your ability to turn complexity into clarity, and you will be part of something that really matters.
Apply now and be part of building Sizewell C.
When joining Sizewell C, you may wonder why you are contacted by colleagues with an EDF email or see the EDF logo on portals that you access and/or documentation you receive; this is because we have partnered with EDF for the provision of a number of support services whilst we complete a successful transition out of the EDF group.
At Sizewell C we encourage and embrace diversity and how it can improve our experience and performance at work. It is a requirement that those who join us have the right to work in the UK. Whilst sponsorship may be a possibility that we can explore, we are fully committed to local recruitment where possible, and those already holding the right to work in the UK.
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
