Company DescriptionSSPN Global Engineering & Consultancy is a growing UK engineering services specialising in custom automated equipment, known for innovation, collaboration, deliver bespoke projects from concept through to production and tailored engineering solutions. Specialised in mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, gearing solution supporting for concept design, interior & exterior, cabin body, chassis, packaging, onsite build support, reverse engineering, design optimization.Role DescriptionThis is a contract, on-site role for a Mechanical Design Engineer located in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing innovative mechanical designs, creating detailed product specifications, performing computer-aided design (CAD) work, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role involves supporting product development through the entire lifecycle—concept, design, prototyping, and production—while maintaining strict quality standards and timelines.Qualifications

Mechanical Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
3+ years’ design experience
Skilled in 3D CAD (Catia V5/ SolidWorks knowledge beneficial)
Practical, detail-oriented, and strong problem solver
Effective communicator with the ability to manage multiple projects
Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Experience within a product development or manufacturing environment is preferred

Key Responsibilities

Delivering engineering design solutions for new/ existing products, developing concepts through to production release in collaboration with suppliers
Understand customer requirements and support proposals
Develop concepts and produce detailed designs to standards (e.g. BS8888)
Create BOMs and support manufacturing processes
Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and standards
Work with cross-functional teams and manage project updates
Support projects through build and commissioning, including occasional site visits
