We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team, with the opportunity to receive MOT Tester training. Duties
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance tasks using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues through schematics and technical diagrams
- Perform repairs on various vehicle components, including engine parts, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
- Carry out assembly and disassembly of vehicle parts with precision and care
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts utilised for each vehicle
- Support the team in equipment repair and maintenance to ensure workshop efficiency
- Participate in welding activities when necessary for structural repairs or modifications
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely to move parts or components within the workshop environment
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised workspace adhering to health and safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients about work carried out
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical knowledge or relevant experience in vehicle maintenance is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for all technical skills
- Familiarity with schematics and technical diagrams is advantageous
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods during shifts
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customer service
- Willingness to learn new skills through on-the-job training, including MOT testing procedures
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
