Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team, with the opportunity to receive MOT Tester training. This role offers a comprehensive introduction to vehicle maintenance and repair, providing valuable skills and experience within a professional automotive environment. The position is suitable for individuals eager to develop their technical expertise and pursue a career in vehicle servicing. All roles are paid, including internship opportunities, ensuring a rewarding start to your automotive journey.

Duties

Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance tasks using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues through schematics and technical diagrams
Perform repairs on various vehicle components, including engine parts, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
Carry out assembly and disassembly of vehicle parts with precision and care
Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts utilised for each vehicle
Support the team in equipment repair and maintenance to ensure workshop efficiency
Participate in welding activities when necessary for structural repairs or modifications
Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely to move parts or components within the workshop environment
Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised workspace adhering to health and safety standards
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients about work carried out

Qualifications

Basic mechanical knowledge or relevant experience in vehicle maintenance is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for all technical skills
Familiarity with schematics and technical diagrams is advantageous
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work
Physical capability for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods during shifts
Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customer service
Willingness to learn new skills through on-the-job training, including MOT testing procedures
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
