We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious Surgical Registered Veterinary Nurse to join frank. Pet Surgeons.

At frank. Pet Surgeons., we handle a diverse range of intriguing orthopaedic cases, including complex fractures, angular limb deformities, and spinal and soft tissue surgeries. How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Surgical Referral Nurse, you will deliver advanced nursing care to complex cases within a referral hospital environment, supporting patients, clients, and clinical teams.

You’ll work as part of a team, contributing to high standards of nursing care, supporting clinical decision-making, and sharing your experience and knowledge with colleagues to continually improve patient outcomes and service delivery.

This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week, worked on a rotating 8-week shift pattern. Standard shifts range from 7:00am to 8:00pm, with a dedicated scrub week (Tuesday–Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm, Monday off). The role also includes participation in an on-call rota.

General responsibilities include:

Assist surgeons with a wide range of orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures, including complex cases.

Provide high-quality anaesthesia and perioperative nursing care to support patient safety and recovery.

Prepare and maintain surgical theatres

Work collaboratively within a Specialist-led team while also using initiative and clinical autonomy

Support diagnostic and imaging procedures where required.

You are an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse with interest in anesthesia and surgery and a passion for referral-level care. You’ll bring:

Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
Significant experience in clinical practice with advanced nursing skills relevant to your discipline
Experience working with surgical cases in a referral or advanced-care setting
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
A commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and continuous improvement
