Are you a Commercial Manager with a strong background in direct project delivery? Have you worked on power or infrastructure projects? Would you like to join a company that supports your development and encourages further education and training? If so, the opportunity below could be for you!

The opportunity:

Expanded Structures are the specialist reinforced concrete basement, sub and superstructure frame construction division of Laing O'Rourke and are currently recruiting a Commercial Manager to join the team in Suffolk.

Be part of this ‘once in a generation' project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2-Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity. The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke. We are more than just an alliance; we are bringing together a single delivery organisation with years of learning and experience from other major complex infrastructure programmes worldwide.

What will the role look like?

Managing commercial activities across your project section from pre-construction through to completion.
Coordinating with subcontractors, clients, and project teams to support successful delivery outcomes.
Supporting strong financial, contractual, and commercial management to help achieve project objectives.
Preparing monthly cost reports, contract reviews, BPR information, and business planning inputs.
Managing subcontract drafting, administration, and settlement of accounts and claims.
Overseeing change control processes and ensuring effective risk and opportunity management.
Providing contractual and commercial advice to project teams.
Supporting continuous improvement and encouraging best practice across operations.
Supporting the development of colleagues within the commercial team.
Ensuring contract documentation is properly completed and compliant prior to project commencement.
Highlighting and escalating risks or issues that may affect project or business performance.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

Strong NEC contract knowledge
Proven experience in direct project delivery
Power and/or infrastructure sector experience
Degree qualified in relevant discipline (Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management)
Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors desirable but not essential.
