Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Poultry Farm Manager to live onsite and oversee daily operations at our poultry farm. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing flock health, ensuring efficient farm maintenance, and implementing sustainable farming practices. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and a passion for animal care and farm management. The Poultry Farm Manager will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of productivity, animal welfare, bio security and environmental sustainability.
Due to the nature of the role a performance based bonus and accomodation will provided as part of the package. This role comes with a recently renovated, beautiful 5 bedroom farmhouse on site.
Responsibilities
Management role
An emphasis on running the farm as if it was your own business, managing expenditure, maintenance, health and safety, bird welfare and quality assurance. In general oversee the day-to-day running of the farm with the assistance of other farm and relief staff. Maintaining safe work practices of all personnel and contractors on site. Liaise with customers and manage external contractors. Basic farm and equipment maintenance.
Compliance
Ensure you and any staff continue to meet training and maintain Poultry passport qualifications. Ensure compliance with legislative and assurance scheme standards.
Day to Day activities to include:
- Crop cycle management
- Biosecurity management
- Setting up houses for chicks and carrying out daily checks on the housing and birds.
- General bird management – Ventilation, feeding, vaccinating, shaving top ups etc.
- Managing crop estimation and ensuring best crop performance.
- Completing daily checklists and all relevant paperwork in accordance with Quality Control.
- Humanely culling and removal of dead birds.
- Litter management.
- Feed ordering and management.
- Comply with company relevant policies and regulations.
- Work with your team and the Senior Leadership Team, alongside veterinary advice to continuously improve farm performance and bird welfare.
- Arrange turnaround procedures and cleaning.
- Implement a robust water sanitisation programme at turnaround and in-crop.
Requirements
- Proven experience in farm management within poultry sectors
- Knowledge of feed and water management practices suitable for farm environments
- Competent in inventory management and record keeping
- Good organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Pay: From £35,000.00 per year
