Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Butcher to join our team in a busy food production environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and food safety to develop their skills within a professional setting. The successful candidate will support the butchery team in preparing high-quality meat products, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to food safety standards.

Duties

Assist with the preparation and processing of meat products, including trimming, portioning, and packaging
Support the butchery team in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of workstations
Ensure all food preparation activities comply with health and safety regulations
Help with stock organisation, including inventory checks and storage of meat supplies
Maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the workspace
Assist in the delivery of excellent customer service when required
Follow all food safety protocols during handling, storage, and presentation of products

Requirements

Previous experience or training in food production, culinary arts, or butchery is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices within a food environment
Experience working in a restaurant or kitchen setting is advantageous
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Enthusiasm for learning about meat preparation and food processing techniques
Good communication skills and a professional attitude
