Quality Assurance / Technical Officer
Somerset Cuisine – South West England

Somerset Cuisine is a small, specialist food manufacturer based in the South West of England. We pride ourselves on producing high-quality jams, preserves and marmalades for a range of prestigious retailers and brands.

We are now seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance / Technical Officer to join our friendly and professional team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the safety, quality, and consistency of our products.

Main Responsibilities

Monitor production to ensure procedures and quality systems are consistently followed.
Carry out in-process testing of product quality parameters.
React to and report any out-of-specification results that may affect product quality.
Complete scheduled audits of site quality systems and operations to confirm compliance with site and customer requirements.
Develop and implement improvements to the site quality systems.
Ensure hygiene and housekeeping standards are upheld by all staff.
Investigate and report any out-of-specification issues with raw material or finished product storage that may impact safety or quality.
Prepare NPD (New Product Development) kitchen samples as directed and supervise factory trials.

Personal Qualities & Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical role within the food industry.
Experience conducting internal audits.
Knowledge of the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.
Strong educational background with evidence of maths proficiency (GCSE grade 5 or above).

The Role

Hours: 36 per week, Monday to Thursday.
Pay: £15.00 / Hr
