Job Summary
Greenhill Medical Centre is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with previous GP practice or healthcare administration experience to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care within a busy NHS General Practice.

We are looking for a professional, organised, and patient-focused individual who can provide excellent reception and administrative support while maintaining a welcoming and positive environment for patients and colleagues.

Duties

Maintain accurate patient records and update information as required
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and processing correspondence
Collect and process payments.
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, organised, and welcoming at all times
Assist with general administrative support to medical staff as needed
Greeting patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
Booking, amending, and cancelling patient appointments in accordance with practice protocols.
Processing patient registrations and maintaining accurate patient records.
Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails, and clinical documents.
Supporting clinicians and the wider practice team with administrative tasks.
Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to NHS data protection requirements.
Assisting patients with online services and practice systems where appropriate.
Contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.

Experience

Prior office experience is essential, preferably within a healthcare or medical setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong customer service skills and a professional telephone manner.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a busy environment and prioritise workload.
Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection requirements.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
