We are currently looking for a compassionate and motivated Residential Care Officer to join our team at Trem Y Mor Respite Service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on care and key working a number of individuals with complex support needs. This will include completing person-centred care plans and risk assessments, ensuring all documentation is in line with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) requirements.
Main Duties:
The role involves providing high-quality care and support to individuals who require a safe, stimulating environment with appropriate supervision. This care must be delivered by trained staff who are able to meet both the physical and emotional needs of the people we support.
The role will also involve:
- Liaising with families and health professionals
- Attending multi-disciplinary (MDT) meetings
- Creating care plans and risk assessments
- Reviewing documentation, including quarterly reviews, to ensure care plans remain accurate and effective
Our service operates seven days a week, offering a programme of activities and therapies in conjunction with health professionals where appropriate. These are tailored to each individual’s level of need and are designed to:
- Maintain and improve health and wellbeing
- Promote independence and personal development
- Provide valuable respite for families

Essential / Desirable Criteria:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to achieve within two years of commencement)
- Ability to use IT systems to maintain accurate records (essential)
- Registration with Social Care Wales (or willingness to apply immediately upon starting)
- Experience of working with individuals with complex needs (desirable)
- A caring, flexible and person-centred approach
