Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precise components in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in fabrication and materials handling. The successful applicant will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Duties

Programme, set up, and operate CNC machinery using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other relevant tools
Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate production of parts
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance
Handle materials safely, including loading and unloading raw materials and finished products
Utilise hand tools and tooling to assist with machine adjustments or minor repairs
Conduct quality checks on finished components, ensuring they meet specified tolerances and standards
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
Assist with assembly, welding, or fabrication tasks as required within the workshop environment
Document production data accurately for traceability and process improvement purposes

Experience

Proven experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing or workshop setting
Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, milling, welding, and materials handling
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar platforms
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
Experience with hand tools, tooling, and basic math skills relevant to machining operations
Warehouse experience or background in assembly is advantageous
Prior exposure to materials handling equipment and safety protocols within a manufacturing environment is preferred

This role requires applicants to demonstrate technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards. Candidates should possess relevant experience in machining or fabrication processes to succeed in this position.

Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
