Job Title: Site Operator - Anaerobic Digestion
Job Summary
We're looking for a hands-on Process Technician to help run and maintain our Anaerobic Digestion facility. You'll work closely with the Plant Manager to keep daily operations running smoothly, safely, and in line with our Environmental Permit (EPR). This is a process-focused role — you'll be monitoring and troubleshooting a live biological and mechanical system. Site logistics (waste intake, mobile plant, deliveries) form part of the job, but the core of the role is keeping the digestion process healthy and the plant compliant.
What You'll Be Doing
Process
- Carrying out daily site checks and routines alongside the Plant Manager to maintain EPR compliance and operational performance
- Monitoring and managing computer-controlled plant systems
- Conducting routine maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and biological systems
- Troubleshooting and resolving process and equipment issues to minimise downtime
- Basic first-line maintenance on pumps, pipework, and process equipment
Site & Waste Handling
- Receiving waste deliveries and loading material into the de-packaging process using a front-end loader/telehandler
- Directing delivery vehicles in and out of the tipping hall, and offloading with a forklift
- Moving materials around site using mobile plant
- General site housekeeping and cleaning
What We're Looking For
- A genuine interest in process work — you want to understand why the plant behaves the way it does, not just handle machinery
- Comfortable with, or willing to learn, computer-controlled plant systems
- Basic understanding of workplace Health & Safety requirements
- Strong troubleshooting instincts and a proactive, hands-on attitude
- Good written and verbal communication
- Able to work shifts and flexible with overtime when the business needs it
- Able to manage your own time and, after training, problem-solve independently
Nice to Have (Not Essential)
- Previous process or AD/utilities operational experience
- Telehandler or forklift licence (full training given if you don't have one)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £32,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Company pension
- Free parking
- On-site parking
