Summary
We are seeking a talented Head Chef to lead our culinary team at Tigh an Truish . This pivotal role involves overseeing food quality and kitchen operations to ensure an outstanding dining experience for locals and tourists alike. This Role includes a recently refurbished flat on site with all bills covered, partnership opportunity, scope to produce any dishes you like whilst maintaining our 2 AA Rosette standard.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the kitchen team to deliver high-quality food consistently.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet our standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control efficiently.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to foster a motivated team environment.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service.
- Maintain a positive and professional kitchen atmosphere aligned with our hospitality values.
- Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in a similar culinary role.
- Extensive food production and culinary expertise.
- Strong team management and leadership skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety standards.
- Experience in restaurant or inn settings preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for innovative cuisine and guest satisfaction.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
We currently hold 5 AA gold stars for our Accommodation and 2 AA Rosette for our restaurant, you must be able to cook to this standard. our Ethos is simple its simple food done well, we have our own butcher shop next door so there is an abundance of high quality meat to work with along side the immensely high standard of seafood on our doorstep.
This is a great role for someone looking to make a name for themselves and become part of a really lovely community, our menus vary with the season and are open for someone to put there own stamp on it.
Opening hours and service time was created to reduce the amount of work hours needed for the kitchen team so no 70+ hour weeks here.
We are a small team who work together to provide good food and service to our clients.
Current summer operating hours ( April - September ) 40 -45 hours per week
Monday - Tuesday - Closed
Wednesday & Thursday dinner only 5.30pm -7.30pm
Friday & Saturday Lunch 12pm-2.30pm Dinner 5.30pm-7.30pm
Sunday Lunch 12pm-4pm No dinner
Winter operating hours ( October - March ) 30-35 hours per week
Monday - Wednesday Closed
Thursday 5.30pm - 7.30pm Dinner
Friday & Saturday Lunch 12pm - 2.30pm Dinner 5.30-7.30pm
Sunday Lunch 12pm-3pm
