Chef Tom Sellers’s two Michelin starred Restaurant Story is looking for an Assistant Head Sommelier. A fantastic opportunity to work with an incredible wine list and an equally talented team,you will be responsible for delivering a thoughtful and engaging wine and beverage experience to all our guests in a friendly,creative and inspiring restaurant environment.

Tom Sellers tells his story and the story of British food through an ever-evolving tasting menu of seasonal dishes. The restaurant gained its first Michelin star after five months of opening in 2013 and its second Michelin star in 2021.

Assistant Head Sommelier Requirements

Previous experience as a Sommelier within a high end restaurant,preferably Michelin or 3+ Rosette level
WSET or equivalent Sommelier qualification preferred
You will be hugely passionate about food,beverage and service
Professional and confident communication style with fluent English language ability
Willingness to learn and be a massive team player,sharing your wine and beverage knowledge with the rest of the team
Warm,friendly and humble personality
Enthusiastic and proactive,with impeccable attention to detail
The desire to develop your career within an ambitious and growing restaurant group

Hailing from Nottingham,Tom Sellers is a two Michelin-starred Chef who opened his first restaurant,Restaurant Story,at 26. At launch,Tom’s unique approach garnered significant critical acclaim,being awarded a Michelin Star just five months after opening,with a second star following in 2021. Tom learned his craft from some of the world’s most influential Chefs and spent time working alongside the likes of Tom Aikens in London,Thomas Keller at three Michelin-starred per se in New York,and René Redzepi at two Michelin-starred Noma in Copenhagen,all before the age of 21. Story Cellar,a Parisian inspired rotisserie style restaurant opened in 2023 to much critical acclaim followed by Dovetale at 1 Hotel Mayfair,where the restaurant offers a sustainably minded,produce led à la carte menu of reimagined European classics,bolstered by dishes cooked over the grill,and an abundant raw bar.
