Role Overview:
The Student Recruitment & Admissions Counselor will play a key role in converting prospective students’ inquiries into successful applicants. This includes managing communication with leads, collecting and verifying documentation, ensuring timely application submissions, and supporting students throughout the admissions journey, including guidance on Student Finance applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Counseling & Support:
· Ensure all inquiries from students are duly attended and served with professional attitude.
· Proactively follow up with prospective students via phone, email, and messaging platforms.
· Engage with students to understand their academic goals and recommend suitable study options.
· Convert inquiries into completed applications through consistent, persuasive, and supportive communication.
· Provide personalized guidance on UK higher education options, entry requirements, and career pathways.
· Conduct interviews or assessments where required to evaluate student suitability.
Admission and Application Management:
· Ensure that the admissions process is accurate, transparent, and compliant while meeting timelines and objectives.
· Collect, review, and verify all required student documents for completeness and accuracy.
· Oversee and preserve admissions records, making sure that information is handled securely and accurately.
· Ensure timely submission of applications to universities and colleges.
· Monitor application progress and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth processing and quick turnaround times.
· Communicate with internal departments to provide efficient communication and the seamless advancement of applications.
Student Finance Guidance:
· Support eligible students through the UK Student Finance application process.
· Explain requirements, deadlines, and documentation clearly and accurately.
· Provide step-by-step assistance to ensure successful funding applications.
Collaboration & Reporting:
· Work closely with Admissions, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure a smooth student journey.
· Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and internal reporting tools.
· Participate in team meetings and contribute to recruitment strategies and performance improvements.
Qualifications:
· Strong command of English (spoken and written).
· Additional languages are an advantage but not required.
Education & Experience:
· Good understanding of the UK Higher Education system is essential.
· Previous experience (minimum 1 year) in student recruitment, admissions, sales, or customer-facing advisory roles is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a persuasive, student-focused approach.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage documentation accurately.
· Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple student cases simultaneously.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), CRM systems, and digital communication tools.
