Full job description

Mesita is a Spanish style tapas restaurant in the heart of Topsham. Think San Sebastian on a warm evening: small plates, good wine, the clink of glasses in the courtyard and the easy hum of a room full of happy people. We cook the Basque way, we keep things relaxed, and we look after our lovely customers like they have come round to ours for dinner.

We are looking for an assistant manager to come in as Jackie's right hand person. This is a proper hands on role and no two days look the same. One minute you are welcoming guests into the garden, the next you are running a section in the main restaurant, talking someone through the menu, or quietly making sure the courtyard is humming along just right. If you like variety and you like people, you will feel at home here.

The role would suit someone looking for part time, full time, or even just a summer by the water. We can talk about what works for you.

Mostly though, we want a lovely person. Someone genuinely warm, calm under a busy service, and happy looking after our customers across the garden, the courtyard and the main restaurant. A little restaurant or hospitality experience helps, but a real feel for people and a love of good food and wine matters more. The Spanish and Basque side of things you can learn from us.

We are a small team and everyone pulls in the same direction. You will work closely with Jackie and have a real say in how the place runs.

You will find us right in Topsham, a short stroll from the water. Meals on shift and a staff discount are included.
