Arborite Tree Services are looking for an experienced Climbing Supervisor to join the team. This is a key role overseeing site operations, leading teams to deliver work safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. You’ll be hands-on in both climbing operations and site supervision, supporting the team while maintaining strong health & safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise site teams to deliver works safely and efficiently
- Carry out advanced tree climbing and aerial operations
- Oversee and coordinate daily site activities and workflow
- Operate chainsaws and equipment from ground and rope & harness
- Ensure all works are carried out in line with Health & Safety procedures
- Promote and uphold company Quality Assurance standards
- Carry out site briefings and ensure clear communication across the team
- Inspect and maintain equipment, PPE, and tools
- Support ground staff and ensure smooth job progression
- Represent Arborite professionally on-site
- Undertake additional duties as required to support operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory or lead climber role
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads
- Confident leading teams and maintaining site efficiency
- Proven experience in tree felling and dismantling
- Confident working at height using rope & harness
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients
- Familiarity with machinery and equipment (e.g. excavators, MEWPs, chippers)
- Physically fit and capable of manual work
- City & Guilds NPTC – Felling and processing trees up to 380mm (CS31)
- City & Guilds NPTC – Tree climbing and Arial Rescue. (CS38)
- City & Guilds NPTC– Areial cutting of trees with a chainsaw using free fall techniques. (CS39)
- City & Guilds NPTC– Chainsaw maintenance & Cross cutting (CS30)
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
Desirable (not essential)
- CSCS Card
- Forestry First Aid at Work
- Manual Handling certification
- Additional NPTC units (e.g. rigging, MEWP)
- City & Guilds NPTC – Safe use of manually fed wood-chipper (CS100)
- City & Guilds NPTC – Aerial tree rigging.
- Experience on large scale site clearance or complex dismantles
