Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Weekend Server to join our team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service in a lively dining environment, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable experience. The successful applicant will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere throughout their shift.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalised service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are accommodated
- Serve meals and drinks efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
- Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities in a friendly manner
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to during service
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as required, supporting kitchen staff when necessary
- Manage guest queries promptly and professionally, resolving any issues to ensure satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including setting tables and clearing used items
- Handle cash or electronic payments accurately at the end of each shift
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation
Skills
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques
- Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour
- Strong organisational skills with effective time management to handle multiple tables efficiently
- Basic maths skills for processing bills and payments accurately
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and sales
- Kitchen experience or culinary background is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
