Full job description

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA & Regulatory Assistant to support our commitment to Quality, Food Safety, and Regulatory compliance. This role plays a key part in ensuring we meet customer expectations, legal requirements, and external accreditation standards.

You’ll work closely with the Quality Assurance & Regulatory Manager to maintain and improve our Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring we remain compliant and audit-ready at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance

Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System
Assist in implementing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Apply HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP principles in daily operations
Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and ensure compliance
Conduct internal audits, system audits, and hygiene swabbing
Maintain and update QA documentation (SOPs, cleaning records, process forms)
Support external audits and prepare required documentation
Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances
Respond to technical queries from customers and stakeholders
Work with suppliers to obtain and maintain accurate technical information

Regulatory Compliance

Support regulatory and certification audits
Ensure labelling complies with current regulations
Liaise with external bodies and accreditation organisations
Maintain and update third-party platforms and compliance systems
Monitor and review policies to ensure legal compliance
Support regulatory aspects of projects

General Responsibilities

Deliver training and guidance to colleagues where required
Keep up to date with industry regulations and best practice
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Work collaboratively across departments
Ensure compliance with company policies, including Health & Safety

About YouSkills & Experience

Experience in a QA or regulatory role within food manufacturing (or similar regulated industry)
Strong knowledge of BRCGS Food Safety Standard
Understanding of HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP principles
Auditing experience (internal and/or external)
Knowledge of food safety and regulatory requirements

Strong communication skills, able to work across all levels
Able to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines

Technical Skills

Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Strong written and numerical skills for documentation and data analysis
