A great opportunity has arisen to join Exeter College as a science technician in the Outstanding Faculty of Maths and Science. Anticipated late August 2026 to July 2027.
You will provide technical support, working flexibly and collaboratively to complement our existing three experienced science subject specialist technicians, based in dedicated prep rooms for Biology, Chemistry and Physics. You will be directly working with teaching staff and liaising across subject areas and with the Faculty Operations Lead on ordering equipment and resources.
You will benefit from working in a very supportive team within this positive faculty, plus the wider staff benefits of a growing college. We deliver practical science courses in A level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science and Geology; Access to HE courses, International Baccalaureate, and GCSE Biology. We are based in the Maths and Science Centre housing our purpose-built subject-specialist labs. Student have a high level of progression in the STEMM areas. We are a highly regarded local employer based in the heart of the thriving city of Exeter.
You will be enthusiastic, pro-active, an effective communicator and team member, as well as having the skills required for the role as described in the Job Description. We are looking for a motivated individual with a strong desire to work in an educational setting; supporting teaching staff to enable learners to develop the skills required for their chosen progression routes. You should have a scientific background, common sense and a willingness to learn – making this an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to move into this role with less existing formal training as a technician. Alternatively, it would suit a more experienced candidate.
