Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is vital in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and upholding high standards of hygiene and safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, cleaning, and general kitchen duties within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting. Previous experience in a similar role or in the hospitality industry is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the culinary and hospitality sectors.
Duties
- Washing, peeling, and preparing ingredients for cooking or serving
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain hygiene standards
- Ensuring all areas of the kitchen are kept tidy and organised throughout service
- Supporting the culinary team with stock rotation and storage organisation
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Helping with the setup and breakdown of dining areas as required
- Adhering to all health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment
