Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled HGV Class 1 Driver and HIAB operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, operating a flatbed lorry equipped with a HIAB crane. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a background in commercial driving and delivery operations to utilise their skills in a professional environment. The position requires a proactive approach to safety, punctuality, and customer service.

Duties

Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure safety and compliance with legal standards
Safely operate a flatbed lorry with HIAB crane for loading and unloading cargo
Deliver goods to various locations, adhering to scheduled routes and deadlines
Secure loads appropriately using straps and other securing devices
Assist with loading and unloading using the HIAB crane, ensuring proper handling of all items
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
Follow all health and safety regulations during operations
Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues

Experience

Proven experience as a HGV Class 1 driver with a valid UK driving licence
Previous experience operating a HIAB crane is highly desirable
Delivery driver experience within a commercial environment preferred
Familiarity with flatbed vehicle operations and securing cargo securely
Knowledge of current driving regulations and safety standards in the UK
Ability to handle physically demanding tasks associated with loading, unloading, and securing cargo
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and scheduling

Pay: £16.50 per hour
