Groundsperson / Gardener
Radnor House Sevenoaks
Radnor House Sevenoaks is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Groundsperson / Gardener to support the Grounds Team in maintaining and enhancing the School’s extensive grounds and sports facilities.
This is a hands‑on role within a professional and friendly Estates team, ensuring that the School’s outdoor environment is safe, well‑presented and fit for purpose throughout the year.
The role will include:
- Routine maintenance and improvement of the School’s grounds, gardens and landscaped areas
- Preparation and upkeep of sports pitches and outdoor facilities, including setting up and taking down sports equipment
- Carrying out a range of gardening tasks such as mowing, pruning, planting, weeding and litter collection
- Supporting tree and woodland maintenance
- Assisting with grounds safety, inspections and general upkeep
- Providing support during adverse weather conditions, including snow and ice clearance
- Always working in line with health and safety requirements
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a positive, proactive and practical approach to work
- Enjoys working outdoors as part of a team
- Can manage a varied workload across the seasons
- Has a good awareness of health and safety
- Holds a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 2 (or above) in Horticulture, Turf Management or a related discipline
- Chainsaw certification and/or PA1/PA6 pesticide qualifications
- Previous experience in a grounds or gardening role
Terms:
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Flexibility required to meet seasonal demands
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required
