Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce high-precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, tooling, and CAD/CAM software, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in machining and manufacturing to contribute to innovative projects within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Programme, set up, and operate CNC machines
Interpret technical drawings and CAD files using and CAD software
Select appropriate tooling and fixtures to ensure precision machining
Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery
Apply basic maths skills for measurements, tolerances, and calculations during programming and machining processes
Ensure all parts meet quality standards through inspection and testing
Maintain a clean and organised work environment in compliance with safety regulations

Qualifications

Proven experience in CNC machining or programming, particularly with router experience
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, DDX Easywood or B.suite; experience with CAM programming is advantageous
Mechanical knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and machine operation techniques
Familiarity with assembly procedures is desirable but not essential
Ability to use various measuring instruments accurately
Strong understanding of basic math principles relevant to machining tasks
Knowledge of safety standards within a manufacturing environment
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Previous experience working with Wood or in a similar manufacturing setting is preferred
