We’re looking for a hardworking and conscientious Site Caretaker to help us keep Edison House Group looking sharp. This is a hands-on role covering our warehouses, yard and some office space, and you’ll take real pride and ownership in the cleanliness and upkeep of the site.
You’ll need to use your initiative to plan and manage your workload. That said, you’ll also need to be flexible as we’re a fast-paced operation and there will be times you’re needed to lend a hand elsewhere on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweeping, mopping and general cleaning of warehouse floors and common areas
- Toilet cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards in welfare facilities
- Wiping down racking, surfaces and equipment
- Gardening and grounds maintenance, including weeding and keeping the yard tidy
- Painting and decorating as required
- General maintenance and minor repairs around site
- Baling cardboard and plastic for recycling
- Hoovering offices and other internal spaces
- Emptying bins and managing waste
- Using your initiative to create a daily schedule and prioritise tasks effectively
- Assisting the wider team with ad-hoc tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For
This role is primarily a cleaning role and that’s something you need to be comfortable with before applying. If getting stuck in doesn’t bother you and you take satisfaction from keeping things clean and tidy, you’ll fit right in.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a keen eye for cleanliness, finding the dust in the corners, not just the obvious stuff
- Be willing to get on their hands and knees to reach the spots others miss
- Be self-motivated and able to manage their own workload without constant direction
- Be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting (items over 25kg on a daily basis)
- Be flexible and adaptable in a busy, working environment
- Take genuine pride in the condition of the site
- Have some previous experience in a similar role, whether that’s cleaning, caretaking, grounds maintenance or a combination of these
Pay: £25,350.00 per year
