Duties
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections, including MOT testing, to assess safety and roadworthiness.
- Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance on various vehicle makes and models using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Diagnose mechanical issues accurately using specialised diagnostic equipment.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools efficiently to carry out repairs and adjustments.
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed in accordance with company standards and legal requirements.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment.
- Keep up-to-date with manufacturer specifications, industry developments, and MOT testing procedures.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose faults effectively.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience in performing MOT tests in accordance with UK legislation is highly desirable.
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle components or equipment.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and customers.
- A valid MOT tester certification (or willingness to obtain) is preferred but not essential for all roles.
