Job Overview
We are seeking skilled and reliable PTS Fencers to join our growing team. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of fencing systems on railway infrastructure projects and other construction sites.
We are particularly interested in operatives with experience installing stock fencing, Clipex fencing, X-Mesh fencing, and other security and boundary fencing systems. Applicants should be committed to working safely, producing high-quality workmanship, and maintaining excellent attendance and punctuality.
Key Responsibilities
- Install a variety of fencing systems, including stock fencing, Clipex fencing, X-Mesh fencing, and other specialist fencing products.
- Repair, replace, and maintain existing fencing structures to ensure safety, security, and durability.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installation and repair works.
- Assist with site preparation, including setting out, groundwork, and excavation activities.
- Work safely on or near the railway in accordance with all industry and site-specific safety requirements.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to deliver projects on time and to the required standard.
- Ensure all works comply with company procedures, health and safety legislation, and client specifications.
- Assist with associated construction activities when required.
Essential Requirements
- Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification.
- Previous experience working on or near the railway.
- Proven experience in fencing installation, including stock fencing, Clipex fencing, X-Mesh fencing, or similar systems.
- Competent in the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of fencing fabrication and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and site specifications.
- Additional railway competencies and certifications.
- Basic plant operator tickets or machinery experience.
