All Things Dog Limited is a professional dog walking and training business based in and around Corbridge, Ovingham, Prudhoe. We focus on providing structured, reliable care tailored to each individual dog, with an emphasis on calm handling, breed fulfillment and wellbeing.
We provide solo dog walks, allowing dogs to receive one-to-one attention and walks suited to their individual needs, temperament, and energy levels. Our work includes everything from steady companion walks to more structured outlet walks for higher-energy and working breeds.
Job Overview
We’re looking for a reliable, confident dog walker to join All Things Dog Limited on a self-employed basis.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working outdoors and have a genuine love for animals. This role involves providing dogs with enjoyable, enriching walks and ensuring their safety at all times. Confidence around dogs is essential for this role as you will work with a variety of breeds, sizes and temperaments.
Duties
- Take dogs on scheduled walks, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and mental stimulation
- Monitor dogs during walks to ensure safety and behaviour management
- Clean up after dogs, including disposing of waste appropriately
- Updating owners after each walk, noting any concerns or notable behaviours
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog’s activity and wellbeing
- Follow specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding individual needs, restrictions and training
- Assist with basic training or behavioural cues as needed during walks
Requirements
- Genuine love for animals
- Experience caring for dogs preferred
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments confidently and safely
- Reliable, punctual, and organised with good time management skills
- Excellent communication skills to liaise professionally with pet owners
- Physically fit to walk outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions
- Must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s licence and use of own vehicle
- A responsible attitude with the ability to follow instructions carefully and adhere to safety measures
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview, followed by a trial shift for successful candidates.
